Collection of French farces, including 'Le père aux Indes,' (by Gueullette and Salley) 'Le remède a la mode,' (by Gueullette and Salley) 'Isabelle grosse par vertu,' (by Gueullette or Fagan) and 'Ah! que voilà qui est beau' (by Gueullette and De la Vallière) These plays involve the stock characters of the commedia dell'arte as represented in the standard French parade, or short outdoor farce: Isabelle, Leandre, Cassandre, Gilles and Arlequin. One additional text, 'Lettre a M. le President hainaut," appears to be a personal appeal from the playwright.
